چکیده

Thermal emission rates and mean free paths of photons in a color-flavor locked (CFL) phase of quark matter at high densities and moderate temperatures are evaluated. Our calculations are based on a low-energy effective theory for CFL matter describing Goldstone boson excitations and their electromagnetic as well as strong interactions. Inmedium coupling strengths of vector mesons are found to be smaller than in vacuum. As a consequence of in-medium modified pion dispersion relations, novel processes such as π+π− → γ and γ → π+π− become possible. The total photon emissivity is found to be very large, exceeding contributions from thermal e+e− annihilation above temperatures of about 5 MeV. At the same time, the corresponding mean free paths become very small. Our results imply that the photon flux from the surface of a (hypothetical) CFL star in its early hot stages saturates the black-body limit. Estimates for the early thermal evolution of the star are also presented.

Multi fluidity and Solitary wave stability in cold quark matter: core of dense astrophysical objects

Considering the magneto-hydrodynamic equations in a non-relativistic multi uid framework, we study the behavior of small amplitude perturbations in cold quark matter. Magneto-hydrodynamic equations, along with a suitable equation of state for the cold quark matter, are expanded using the reductive perturbation method. It is shown that in small amplitude approximation, such a medium should be co...

Electromagnetic Radiation and in - Medium Effects

The theory of thermal photon and dilepton emission from hot and dense hadronic matter, as well as from the Quark-Gluon Plasma, is reviewed in the context of extracting in-medium properties of the matter constituents. In phenomenological applications to ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions we focus on low transverse-momentum ”anomalies” as recently observed in photon and dilepton spectra by WA...

Soft Photon Emission as a Sign of Sharp Transition in Quark-gluon Plasma 1

Photon emission arising in the course of transition between the states of quark-gluon and hadron plasma has been considered. Single-photon distributions and two-photon correlations in central rapidity region have been calculated for heavy ion collisions at high energies. It has been found that opposite side two-photon correlations can serve as a sign of sharp transitions between the states of s...

Nonequilibrium Photons as a Signature of Quark-hadron Phase Transition

We study the nonequilibrium photon production in the quark-hadron phase transition, using the Friedberg-Lee type solitons as a working model for quarkhadron physics. We propose that to search for nonequilibrium photons in the direct photon measurements of heavy-ion collisions may be a characteristic test of the transition from the quark-gluon to hadronic phases. Cherenkov radiations from Quark Plasma

I propose an observable to declare the formation of Quark Plasma (QP) without any doubts. It is the observation of Cherenkov photon radiations of the order of 100 MeV associated with fast light charged particles while they are penetrating hot dense mediums produced in high energy heavy ion collisions. Direct observations of Cherenkov rings associated with charged leptons decayed from Z boson or...
